Include your store’s .myshopify.com domain and, if a rule is misbehaving, the rule’s name and the company or location it applies to. For approval problems, the buyer’s email address and the time of the request help most.
Things to check first
- A rule isn’t being enforced. Open Settings in the app and look at “Last synced”. If it says never, or an error is shown, use Sync now. Rules only apply to buyers who are logged in to a company account.
- A buyer can add to cart but can’t check out. That is by design: rules are checked at checkout so buyers can build up to a minimum. The reason is shown at the top of the checkout page.
- The approver didn’t get the email. Check the approver address on the rule, then the Approvals page, which shows every request and its status. Links in approval emails expire after 7 days.
- A location shows tax but has a certificate. Open the certificate; if it has expired, the flag was cleared on purpose. Upload the renewed certificate to restore it.
Removing the app
Uninstall from your Shopify admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels. Your rules, approvals, certificates and deposit records are deleted within 48 hours. Tax-exempt flags the app set on company locations are left as they are, so your buyers’ tax treatment does not change on uninstall.
